United States Agency for International Development

    USAID's global programs, which seek to promote family planning and reproductive health, infectious disease prevention and control, child survival, maternal health and other life-saving areas have been successful in saving countless lives worldwide. The website contains useful information on health and nutrition concerns, an extensive link database, and an information guide classified by sector on key issues identified by USAID as a serious threat to poor communities all over the globe.

Republic of the Philippines Department of Health

    The Department of Health (DOH) is the principal health agency in the Philippines. It is responsible for ensuring access to basic public health services to all Filipinos by providing them with quality health care services. It is also responsible for the regulation of health care institutions and professionals. The DOH website contains a list of the different departments within the agency that deal with specific topics on health and nutrition in the Philippines, including a directory of Health Development Centers responsible for implementing policies and projects.

World Health Organization

    The WHO’s website provides information on research materials, ongoing projects and key health issues adversely affecting world populations, specifically in third world countries. Since the founding of the WHO in 1948, the library has served as the collective memory of the organization, systematically indexing and preserving publications arising from WHO activities. The website includes updates on WHO’s activities, such as its technical assistance, planning and logistical aid programs, and the requirements for accessing them.

World Bank Health, Nutrition & Population Website

    With a mission to assist clients to improve health, nutrition & population outcomes of poor people & protect people from the impoverishing effects of illness, malnutrition & high fertility; this World Bank HNP team provides various analytical & lending products & and services. Details on the interventions are accessible through this website that also features an advisory service.

SERP-P or SocioEconomic Research Portal for the Philippines

    SERP-P is an online electronic database of completed, ongoing and pipeline research studies related to economic development and policymaking in the Philippines. It links various socioeconomic studies implemented by various research institutions such as the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), government agencies and the academe. At present, only PIDS studies and selected studies of a few universities and research institutions are contained in the SERP-P.But the database will be regularly updated to include the studies of other institutions. All pertinent data from abstracts, authors, focus of study, geographical coverage, and availability can be found in the SERP-P. Most of all, researchers can leaf through some of the studies' full text.

    The Development Gateway is an interactive portal for information and knowledge sharing on sustainable development and poverty reduction.

    SOSIG provides thousands of selected high quality Internet resources on social sciences, business and law.

Eldis Gateway to Development Information

    Eldis is a gateway to online information on development in countries of the South. Hosted by the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex, UK, its coverage areas include social, economic, political and environmental issues. Eldis makes a qualititative selection of materials and structures it for easy access.
